Olaide Adeniran, President
Ola is a third-year student born in Nigeria and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She is a member of the Moot Court Honors Board and a competitor on our Moot Court competition teams. She is a volunteer for an organization that provides tutoring services, food, and other resources for middle and high school kids in the inner city. Kimberly Cross, Vice President
Kimberly Cross is a 2L at UIC John Marshall Law School. Kimberly’s passion lies in resolving social issues as she embarks on a journey to practice Human Rights Law while focusing on Youth Advocacy. She hones her skills working in areas relating to youth delinquency and public policy, where she laboured diligently with At-Risk Youth and low socio–economic Aboriginal families. Kimberly aspires to actively contribute to the mission of John Marshall’s Black Law Students Association as Vice President. She believes in the principles of social responsibility and will continue to reflect these convictions as she adds to the diversity of the North American legal community.As BLSA Vice President, she is in charge of coordinating the Academic Skills Set, oversea committees, and assisting the President in her needs
Destinee Burrell, Secretary
Destinee Burrell will serve as the Secretary for BLSA. Destinee is a 2L at UIC John Marshall Law School from Kankakee, Illinois. She attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana majoring in Legal Studies. She spent this past summer as an extern at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Dakayla Bowlay-Williams, Treasurer
Dakayla Bowlay-Williams is your treasurer for this semester! She is a 3L2 from New York. After graduating this December Dakayla will be returning to New York to work for a major Insurance Company. She is extremely excited for this semester and cannot wait to meet and get to know you all.
Chynnique Ross, Advocate General
Chynnique Ross is a 2L and a Chicago native. She was elected to represent the Black Law Students Association, as their Advocate General for the 2019-2020 school year. Chynnique looks forward to a successful year!
Naté Simmons, Communications Coordinator
Naté Simmons is a 1L2 enrolled in the part-time division at The John Marshall Law School. Naté participates as a Student Ambassador and is the Communications Coordinator for BLSA. Over the past 19 years, Naté has worked in the banking industry employed by prestigious banks such as JPMorgan Chase and Northern Trust Bank. Throughout her career Naté gained an array of experience ranging from commercial banking, trusts and estates, capital markets, risk management to banking regulatory regulations. She plans on using her law degree to build upon this experience and become a Corporate/Entertainment Attorney.
